Chip's Clubhouse Response to the COVID-19 Crisis

We're happy to say we finally have an official opening day.

CHIP'S CLUBHOUSE OPENING DAY IS TUESDAY, MAY 26TH.

We are implementing certain measures to ensure the safety of our staff and patrons, and we wanted to share those additional safety measures with you. Here is a list of the new procedures we're implementing:

  1. Patrons arriving at Chip's must enter through the front door and exit through the back when going to the course. Carpets on the floor will designate where you should wait if there is a line, allowing you to social distance.
  2. All golfers will be required to use hand sanitizer at the front desk prior to playing. No exceptions.
  3. Putters will be wiped down with a sanitizing wipe when returned from play. We have purchased gym style sanitizing wipe dispensers for use in the clubhouse for this purpose.
  4. Golf Balls will be put into a sanitizing wash when returned and wont go into circulation until properly cleaned.
  5. We will have netting placed around the ponds to prevent golf balls from entering them. We are not able to have our scoops on the course at this time, so we need to keep golf balls out of the water as best as possible.
  6. Children MUST stay with their parents and are not allowed to play ahead of them or run around the course near other golfers. This has always been what we've expected from our patrons, but it's even more important today.
  7. Benches will be removed from inside the clubhouse until further notice. Picnic tables are available in our grassy area near the back parking lot.
  8. We will not be hosting any parties during the 2020 season.

Patrons are encouraged to bring their own putters if they prefer, and we will also have brand new floating golf balls in most colors available for purchase so that patrons can use their own equipment when they visit Chip's Clubhouse.

We also typically start our concessions service on or around May 1st. However, as long as we are in this state of emergency we will not start our hand dipped ice cream service until such time as we are confident the threat has passed. We might consider serving pre-packed items like soft drinks and novelty ice creams, but that is still more than a month away and we've made no final decision yet. At this time do not expect hand dipped ice cream during the 2020 season.

It also goes without saying, but we'll say it anyway - if you're feeling ill in any way, please stay home. Chip's will be here when you're feeling better!

Golfer responsibilities:

  1. Patrons arriving at Chip's must enter through the front door and exit through the back when going to the course. Carpets on the floor will designate where you should wait if there is a line, allowing you to social distance.
  2. Upon entering Chip's Clubhouse, please use hand sanitizer at the front desk.
  3. If you use the bathroom, wash your hands when you are finished. Keep the paper towel in your hand to unlock and open the bathroom door, then throw the paper towel away.
  4. Use hand sanitizer at the front desk when you leave.
  5. Cover coughs and sneezes with the inside of your elbow.

Chip's Staff responsibilities:

  1. The Clubhouse is cleaned daily. Common surfaces like countertops, doorknobs, bathroom, etc. are cleaned and disinfected daily.
  2. Staff will wash and sanitize hands frequently and cover coughs/sneezes into the inside of the elbow.

As you might expect, we could change our position at any time with regards to being open so be sure to check our website or Facebook page for updates.
